Skansen needs to improve integrated customer service

Visiting Sweden, and Stockholm, we decided to take our 7-year old to Skansen, which is promoted as one of the major tourist attractions in the city, especially for kids. The big deception was the parking (which really is non-existent). Arriving some 4-500 meters from the entrance, all traffic was stopped, and we were told that we had to go back to a parking lot that called “Juni-backen” some 5-600 meters back. Arriving there, we had to wait, and wait for some car to leave, in order to find a parking space, which in turn cost a fortune (approximately 4 USD per hour). In addition to that, the parking places are so small that you have to let all passengers in the car go out of the car before you park because otherwise it will be difficult for them to get out of the car. (see enclosed photo). After parking, we walked approximately 1 kilometer to arrive at the entrance.
It is sad to see that a place that promotes itself as one of the major tourist attractions, has zero understanding for visitors need to find a parking. The parking lot is not even part of Skansen, but even more sad to see that Skansen has not tried to arrange for parking for its visitors. That together with the fact that you have to walk one kilometer to get to the entrance, you also have to pre-pay the parking, so if you pay for 3 hours, and then find out you want to stay longer, you have to walk one kilometer back and pay for more time. If you have kids, and is a single parent, that is not fun. Obviously the problem with the pre-paid system also works the other way around, if you pay for 3 hours, and then it starts to rain after half an hour (or whatever else happens and you need to leave earlier, then you still have paid for the 3 hours). Must be an excellent business for the parking company.
In summary, even though Skansen is a nice place, the problem is that one get there already in a bad mood after having had to go through the parking experience, and as a consequence, I am doubtful about recommending Skansen as a visiting place. If you do not use a car, it may be a better option. I hope Skansen realizes that parking facilities is part of their customer service.

Visitando Estocolmo, fuimos a visitar el “parque Skansen” que esta promovido como uno de los centros turisticos mas visitados en Estocolmo, especialmente para niños. Lamentablemente, el problema fue que venimos en coche, y a unos 500 metros antes de la entrada, nos regresaban a un estacionamiento otros 500 metros para tras, lo cual implica que se tiene que caminar un kilometro para llegar a la entrada. El estacionamiento que había, estaba lleno, y teníamos que estar esperando hasta que alguien salía para poder encontrar un lugar , que por cierto costaba una fortuna ( 4 USD por hora). Y todavía, los lugares eran tan pequeños que los pasajeros del coche tenia que salir antes de estacionar (vea foto anexado).
Es triste ver que un lugar que se promociona como lugar turístico no han entendido que necesitan pensar en el estacionamiento. Aparte de estar muy lejos, también tiene un sistema de pre-pago. Es decir si pagaste por 3 horas, y después te gusta el Skansen, tienes que regresar un kilometro, para depositar más dinero en el parquímetro, lo cual no es nada fácil, si estas allí como madre ( o padre) soltero. O al revés, se después de media hora empieza a llover, y por cualquier otra razón tienes que salir antes, ya pagaste las tres horas y no te regresan nada. ( Debe de ser muy buen negocio para el estacionamiento).
En fin, aunque Skansen es un lugar agradable, es dudoso si vale la pena visitarlo considerando el problema del estacionamiento.

I don't see any pic, but all you want to do for vacations is visiting nice places and having fun, instead of this, you got parking issues, thanks for your comment, maybe Skansen can buy Juni-backen and build a bigger and better parking.
No veo ninguna foto, pero todo lo que quieres hacer en un viaje es visitar lugares bonitos y divertirte, y en vez de eso tuviste problemas de estacionamiento, gracias por tu comentario, tal vez Skansen pueda comprar Juni-backen y construir un estacionamiento mas grande y mejor.

Mas que un parque recreativo ese lugar SKANSEN a de ser un centro de entrenamiento de caminata o algo así y muy caro por lo que veo. Felicitaciones a apestan.com, Por la traducción es excelente.
